HamsterOnARoll. I have been in full time world travel for over five years. There are many, many wise and experienced travelers who have great insights to share. I am one tiny, non photogenic voice. I am definitely not an expert but I have learned some things along the way.
This site is about the philosophy, preparation and practice of living on the road. It is a vanity project, and is the opposite of a travel blog – there are no reviews, no glamorous pictures, and no sells. The links that I include do not earn me income but are things that have worked for me. Additionally, I include some sites that I think have done an amazing job of researching aspects that are of interest.
My last sedentary years were spent in the United States, I carry a couple of US passports, and I set off from there. So some of this information is specific to the US.
Much of what I write may seem obvious, but nearly everything was something that I had to learn through more or less painful experience, research, or practice applying consistently. My hope is that anyone who is considering making the break can save some energy and time and money by riffling through these pages. For those who have already launched I hope that there is an idea or two that will improve their fun run.
